Club Penguin: New Membership Price AND Why!

Hey penguins!

So, here's something crazy for you to grip you flippers on to. The Club Penguin Team is RAISING the price of MEMBERSHIPS!

"Price subject to change"
*UPDATE* Here is a picture of a membership I purchased today!

Say, what?! If you don't mind, please let me rant for a moment:

  • One: Club Penguin: You are a mutli-BILLION dollar company, with over 12 MILLION players. You are saying that isn't enough revenue (money) to use for new things on Club Penguin?
  • Two: Look, let's face it, Club Penguin has been very, very glitchy lately, with lots of bugs, disruptions, and glitches, and you are going to raise the price of memberships? This makes NO sense, whatsoever. It would be one thing if you were doing so much better with Club Penguin, adding new things and stuff each day/week that actually WORK. Here is a main example:
    • The new map: It was up for one day, then down the next, because of glitches.
Well, sorry, I just had to get that off my chest... Haha, anyway, here is what they had to say about it: (You may or may not have seen this already in the Community Blog:
For the first time since Club Penguin started, we've decided to change the price of new memberships purchased in US and Canada. Starting on July 13th, the new price for a Club Penguin membership will be $7.95 a month, $39.95 for 6 months and $59.95 for 12 months.
Woah, woah, woah: So, let me get this straight. You are raising prices just because you haven't changed them in a while? What; do you just want to see how many penguins are forced to not pay because they can't afford it? The good news is, if you already pay a month to month membership on a credit card, PayPal, etc, you will still be paying only $5.95. However, if you use membership cards, you will have to pay the new price starting on July 13th.

Well, penguins, let me know what you think about this change. Are you staying? Stopping? Keeping you membership? Let me know in the comments!

Waddle on!
